What we do
- Videos. Since 2004 we have filmed landings, take-offs and everyday life on the apron at Skiathos Airport. Our videos are on our Rumble channel.
- Aircraft Index. Every aircraft in our videos is listed by registration in the Aircraft Index, with a link to the moment it appears.
- Live flight board. The flight board on this site shows the next landings with a countdown, arrivals and departures, the aircraft on the ground, the wind and the estimated runway in use, next to a live stream.
- Own ADS-B receiver. A receiver at Skiathos picks up aircraft transponders, so the board can tell when an aircraft is on final approach, pushing back, taxiing or taking off, and announce it.
- Guides and history. Our Spotter's Guide and Airport Guide explain how the airport works and how to watch it safely. Airport data, traffic statistics and our blog are on skiathoslandings.com.
Safety first
Skiathos became famous on social media for its jet blast as much as for its low landings. We want visitors to enjoy the aircraft without getting hurt, so every page about spotting here reminds you: enjoy the landings, and never stand behind an aircraft that is about to take off.
Where the data comes from
Flight times come from the airport's published flight information. Aircraft registrations and positions come from our own ADS-B receiver and from community networks such as adsb.lol, adsb.fi and OpenSky. Aircraft photos come from Planespotters.net and are credited to their photographers. The wind comes from the Open-Meteo weather model. All of it can be delayed or wrong, so the board is for spotting only, not for travel planning or navigation.
We are not affiliated with Skiathos Airport, Fraport Greece, the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority or any airline.
Support the project
The website, the live stream and the data feeds cost money to run. Advertising on these pages and support from visitors help keep them free. If you enjoy the site, you can buy us a coffee.
